Time of snow (November-April)

The time for frost might start in October with the first snowfall and end at the latest on 10 May with the melting of the last snow. The deep winter lasts from December to March. This season provides the most beautiful conception of winter, with deep snow, sun and light, snow-coated trees, etc. These are what we offer during the time of frost:

Summer season (May-September)

In spring as the snow melts away at the beginning of May:

Spring (April-May)

The days are clearly getting longer all the time and the first bears are roaming through the boreal wilds. It is mid April and spring has set in on the Russian border at Kuhmo. Melting snow and pools of water, ice forms in the morning, snow showers and the strengthening sun tickling the awaking nature all influence the landscape. Autumn (September-October)

Wildlife Safaris Finland Oy’s autumn season extends from September to October. “Ruska”, the Finnish Indian summer, sets in with nocturnal frost. The nights are getting longer, the bears heavier, and there is high animal activity. Night frosts, single snow showers and autumn colours make photography interesting.
