Owls in summer

May/june is the best time to see nesting owls in our region. The Ural owl and great grey owl are seen more often than the others: pygmy-owl, northern hawk owl, short-eared owl, long-eared owl, Tengmalm’s owl, eagle owl. In May-June, it is possible to accompany a local bird ringer. While he is ringing the chicks, in general the parent birds will be at a suitable distance for photography.

Combine your owl photography with bears, wolves, wolverines and eagles, or cranes, whooper swans, bean geese and other water birds, which have their breeding season in May or June and which you can observe from our bird hide.

CONTACT WILDLIFE LASSI RAUTIAINEN for birding or owl photography.
